What is Bees for life ?

An interactive platform that allows you, as a private individual, professional, association or local authority, to report the presence of an Asian hornet nest in a local authority area.

Bees For Life:

Reporting a nest is a direct contribution to local health safety and the protection of bees, insects and biodiversityin general.

Your declaration will enable the platformto trigger thenest destruction process according to the programme put in place by the local authority.

BeesForLife is configured according to the specific choices of each municipality

The management of invasive alien species is carried out under the authority of the municipality or via the bodies to which it has delegated this responsibility (Community of municipalities, conurbation, metropolis, health protection bodies, etc.) within the defined regulatory framework.

Each local authority makes its own management choices, in line with its biodiversity protection objectives and specific constraints, including those relating to the budgetary aspect of the fight against invasive species.

Through your contribution, the local authority will have access to scientific data on the spread of the invasive species. This structured information, via the Bees For Life platform, will be shared with the MNHN, enabling researchers to better understand and organise the fight against the invasive species.

BeesForLife is a team of people who are passionate about protecting bees and using new technologies to protect them.

Work is being carried out in collaboration with Eric Darrouzet* and the University of Bordeaux to gain a better understanding of the Asian hornet. The aim of these studies is to identify the presence of nests as early as possible, in order to monitor their development and potentially provide new solutions for their early detection.
